Through Spyderworks®, Ken helped develop a holistic, business building firm that actively supports high-growth companies and those that finance them. Spyderworks® is a growth incubator for entrepreneurial companies with both local and international aspirations; a niche that he firmly believes is both in demand and under-served. Prior to joining Spyderworks®, Ken Tencer founded and grew Nettlewoods Inc., a manufacturer of private label bath and body care products from its genesis to internationally renowned firm, in under seven years. Nettlewoods clients included Wal-Mart Canada, Zellers, PharmaPlus, Loblaws, and a host of export clients in the Pacific Rim and Europe. The success of Nettlewoods was modeled on a unique, value-added, customer-centric proposition. It offered turnkey solutions, including package & merchandising design, marketing & promotion plans, product development counsel, advertising and expansion support.
Ken's credentials include working for and successfully growing the businesses of other niche manufacturers and retailers. He began his career with a series of marketing, advertising and communications firms, developing campaigns for a variety of financial service companies, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers and social causes. Ken currently sits on the advisory committee of an emerging technology firm, has been the President of a charitable organization and holds both a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors from Carleton University and a Masters of Science in International Management from Boston University (Brussels, Belgium).
